Demisexuality vs. The World

The definition of demisexuality: not experiencing sexual attraction without a strong emotional bond.

The world: That’s what regular people do.

Reality: What regular people do is find someone sexually attractive and get to know the person, most likely via dating for a relative amount of time, to determine if they’re worth a relationship and/or having sex with. Thus, the results determine the action, not the attraction, which was already there.

For a demisexual, the results of interactions with a potential partner determine the attraction, which was not there already. So things like flirting aren’t really going to get our attention because we haven’t established a sexual attraction for the flirter.

There’s a “but” coming:

Even if a demisexual happens to develop strong enough of a bond with another person, it doesn’t necessarily mean they will become sexually attracted to them, but they might be more open to intimacy with them.

Personally, unless we have had an honest, engaging conversation that makes me interested in seeing you more often, I won’t say yes to a date, even if I find you aesthetically attractive; and more often than not, I will be turned off if the conversation swings toward my body or sex. First impressions reveal first intentions.

honestly, out of all the games that might have patch notes reading “fixed a Geneva convention violation”, Stardew Valley was not one I expected.

This far from the first game to do so. This specific Geneva Conventions violation is so common in video games the Red Cross itself has had to tell the industry to knock it off.

My favorite part of it all is that it makes “Neopets violated the Geneva Conventions in the early 2000s” a completely true sentence.

the groupie, lori mattix, said in an interview with thrillist that she lost her virginity to him in 1973 when she was 15. but in an earlier interview with paul trynka, she claimed it happened in october 1972 when she was only 14. she also completely changed the narrative, first saying she snuck into his hotel room and later deciding he approached her at a restaurant. 

also, according to another ex-groupie, she was confirmed in a relationship with jimmy page in the summer of 1972, well before bowie ever toured in california, where she lived.

he was pretty vocal about his stance against p-dophilia as he wrote “shopping for girls” about child trafficking in thailand, threatened to fire his drummer for sending teenage girls to his hotel room, and refused to perform the kiss scene written into the movie labyrinth because jennifer connelly was 14 at the time.

its good to fact check before spreading accusations as serious as this, especially about an activist who campaigned against racism against aboriginal people in australia, openly criticized MTV for not playing music videos by black artists, and, with his wife iman, donated millions of dollars to various human rights organizations in the third world.
